It is the only way to keep plants in good condition with a sprinkler and don't stop until the soil is wet down 4 or 5 inches, at least.

Summer heat has problems, too. Some plants supposed that it is grown in full sun really do better when the shadow of the Sun in the afternoon. Even Roses as protection a little late. Dahlias, also produce flowers his best, in similar conditions. So make instant copies and moms.

Fall vegetables should begin this month. Keep your garden of food producing at full capacity. Plant snap and beans of butter, beets, carrots, cucumbers, peas, lettuce, turnips and yams. In the low southern plant seeds, celery, Eggplant okra and tomato.

Established cabbage, collard and tomato plants in all sections of the South. Tomatoes are now in the upper South probably are mature before Frost, but they are usu-ally for pickle green tomatoes.

Plant potatoes fall this month. Instead of cutting the large potatoes as in spring, plant around small potatoes now. One peck fell 10 to 12 inches apart plant two rows of 100 feet. Fertilize well before planting or applying plant food as a dressing on side in two applications until after the potatoes.

Plantation of mid-August gives seedlings an advantage before winter settles down. Starting seeds within a shadow where attention can be given and where is shaded from the Sun. Products now Pansy seeds sown flowering size plants before Christmas. And let's not forget, grow some herbs too. There are many that can be grown easily.

The bulbs

It is too early to flower bulbs more spring, but there are some that should be planted this month. One is the Madonna Lily, and the other is variegated Peace Lily. Give it good drainage and the plant just deep enough to cover the bulbs. Colchicums and otoƱo-flores saffron are developments everywhere. Colchicums may flowers to the table or the sill without ground or in the garden.

Lily spider red, Lycoris radiata, is one that must be sown this month of September flowers. Also, likes to be planted shallow and only on the left. Florida is called Hurricane Lily because it flowers in September, hurricane season. Other bulbs to plant this month include leucojurns and zephyranthes.
