A quiet for the gardeners

Not long ago the well-being of our garden was threatened. Before we act, we thought prudent scrutiny other gardeners to find out how they clung to its gardens, as well as the peace of mind when full of inappropriate pets.

What to prescribe the well-mannered Emily Post Garden for the man whose edge tulip had been established in the dust of the playful puppy someone?

"Eat their chickens and his prowling cats and dogs in the receiver's dog," roared the man who "rides himself in common sense."

But it must be a choice between the garden and its neighbour? If this common sense advice, could obtain an enemy and lost to a neighbour. It can not eat their chickens and they also have their friendship.

The first lady that I saw was scathing. "Strawberries, Lily pools and aves-canción are preferable to neighbors of maintenance of the plague, all forms, so why worry telling them?" When offered as animals belonging to them and not the residents themselves were the culprits, said, "but it is neighbours that allow them to run in general." "Don't try to a dog in the Court - yet!"

"Neighbors, bah!" I have in my next stop. "He is someone worthy of the neighbouring name which is guilty of converting a loose cat, a cat eating bird un-belled and all of them are no matter what he says the silly cat 'MOM'." "Are all killers of birth and will eat a cardinal or a Zorzal when you've only being launched in whipping cream."

The man was ashamed, perspiring, bitter, down on his knee to work on a coherent pansy bed. I put my question. "Hey!", said bitterly, "my thoughts and my lettuce and my pea vines will probably make its fryers contractor". He received at his feet and exploded in my face, "but they aren't the relief of me!"

The last small Lady, a young mother, was no more soft than the others. "Just by looking at my little blue spruce." Ruined! Absolutely ruined! And his dog had contaminated arena-pila my baby until that she no longer can use her. If you ask what I do, I can tell you. "Shoot him, as safe as I am alive, the next time that it becomes".

But, even travelling pest possible shooters feel a bit. After all, he is the owner, not the mascot, which is really the blame for not keeping their animals at home.

Care for your plants is easy

The definition of "House plant" is rather loose. All of exotic flowers in cactus contrasts with leafy trees can be a floor of the House. If it can be adjusted through the door and grows, it is a plant of the House. In all shapes and sizes, these plants have special needs to keep them healthy and good appearance at his home. Even if you are not a green thumb, you can keep them looking great with only a few simple tips.

First, choose a plant that is right for you. The infinite variety of plants is great, but want to make sure that you choose is right for your home and your skills. If you plan to locate the plant in a window in the North of his home, then under light needs plants will be better (orchids, Ivy, young trees). If your choice is a South or West window that gets plenty of light, that what you want to place a plant that needs such as cacti and ferns.

Look plants for the purchase of your home, make sure that you appear to be healthy. A plant that shows the correct colour and buds or new growth is a healthy plant and will be much easier to transplant and take care of that you one is not so healthy. Bushier plants are generally stronger than "leggy" plants (growth of root length and heavy). This is because a it is transplanting and if there is too much at the bottom and not enough on the top to support it, cannot be so. Remember, plants eat sunlight, so how much more plants in the upper part, better.

Plants that have browning walk past or yellowed leaves as this is a sign of low and irrigation (respectively). Once you choose a plant and move it to a new container and place it in your home, expect to lose some leaves and obtain an aspect a bit sick for a day or two. It is acclimatised to its new home, so it will take a little time.

The plant must occupy the room, not only based on the exposure to the Sun, but also the climate of the room. The bathroom and the kitchen are probably more humid than your living room or bedroom, plants with heavy (such as ferns) water requirements are better off in kitchens and bathrooms while plants with dry needs (like cactus) can be better elsewhere.

Remember that to take care of the plants it means you need to provide adequate light and water. Light is what they eat and water is what drink, so supply both to maintain its healthy plant. The plants "bend" and grow in the direction of the light, so make sure you activate your plants regularly to give increasingly "side" the Sun. A u-turn with each irrigation usually does the trick.

Most of the plants make growth at night, so make sure that yours has some darkness on a daily basis. This means that light bulbs that mimic natural light or the Sun must be deactivated at least a couple of hours for the plant of darkness. Also, if they live in the regions of the North of the world and has seasons with little sunlight, complement their plants for a couple of hours a day with lights that mimic natural light. These are available at most garden stores, and are not very expensive.

Finally, keep pets out of plants to avoid getting injured by restless animals. Don't forget water regularly, according to the needs of the plant and its novel green thumb to enjoy.

Choose a plant that adapts to the Interior conditions

Although many plants can be adapted as well to the interior or exterior conditions, some will flourish in the protected environment inside your home, while others enjoy outdoor elements. If you enjoy gardening, make sure you understand the requirements of its plant when choosing a new floor for your home or garden.

Herbs are one of the more adaptable types of plants available. While they have enough light and drainage, which thrive on the inside or outside. However, if you are looking for specifically so that plants kept inside, there are many other plants that are suitable for this.

Laurus nobilis, a plant native to the Mediterranean, it grows well even in conditions of poor soils, while it receives plenty of light. You do not need water frequently or fertilize excessively; in fact, it is quite possible to sobreriegue or add too much fertilizer. Go easy to care for a plant as Laurus nobilis.

Parsley is an excellent herb for planting in the interior. It will better inside than when exposed to the outdoor elements. Loves the Sun, like most herbs, so place your planter of parsley near a window where they will receive lots of sunlight.

Unlike many herbs, plants bonsai most prefer to go out in the open air. However, there are several species that are well adapted to indoor conditions. In some climates, bonsai in the open air can not grow, and actually will do better in the interior. For example, tropical bonsai will do well outside if you live in a warm climate. But if it falls below 50 degrees for more than a day, it is best to keep their tropical plants bonsai indoors. When you keep plants in inside, you can control the conditions.

You may think that you need to simulate the tropical conditions of these plants, which you yourself uncomfortable. However, all you need to do is make the area near the plants warm and humid. Regularly spray your plants with water. However, keep them out of direct sunlight, as they can overwhelm even plants that thrive in the heat and sunlight.

To maintain the plants, such as the healthy Peace Lily plant , purchase additional lights or heat lamps to simulate the conditions in which they grow. Buy a kit to monitor the conditions of the soil. Above all, make sure that the plants that it chooses well adapted to the Interior conditions to begin with. When you choose a plant that thrive only in interiors and try to force it to flourish inside your home, it will only end frustrated in its growth.

Cleaning of plants for indoor air

Three common plants for indoor use include Dracaena (Dracaena fragrans), Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) and peace lilies (Spathiphyllum clevelandii). Choose the right plant for an interior space may improve the quality of the air and the interior decoration.

Dracaena (Dracaena fragrans): These plants are resistant to the interior and require little maintenance. Dracaena can be placed close to indirect lighting, but make sure that you get enough sunlight for the normal growth rate. The plants should have healthy foliage, strong trunks and an established root system. The trunk should not be languished or covered with Brown foliage. Dracaena should be watered regularly and any meeting of excess water must be drained and discarded. Too much water will cause that the stems soft and possibly rot. Plants require minimal maintenance and must be desempolvadas occasionally.

Photos (Epipremnum aureum): Pothos are originally native to Southeast Asia and are very suitable for indoor climates. Green varieties grow well with inner solar light, indirect. Miscellany varieties need at least an average amount of sunlight. Normal temperatures between 60 and 75 degrees are the best climate for growth. Something more than an increase or decrease in these temperatures can cause the plant require more water and move to a warmer location. The plant can be weekly misted and don't mind a little extra moisture. Make sure that the soil drains well between each irrigation. Spider mites can cause yellow leaves and become rough. The plant of spraying with insecticides or increase the level of humidity should deter any return spider mites. Pothos must be fertilized every month with a water soluble plant food. These plants grow quickly and should be pruned accordingly again.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum clevelandii): Plant of excellent filter, removing pollutants such as formaldehyde, gasoline and carbon monoxide. Peace lilies prefer low natural light and grow well in the interior. The plant has been known to grow in the open air in shaded areas, in hot and humid climates. Peace lilies do not require large amounts of water unless the interior temperatures are warm and indirect exposure to the Sun exceeds more than five hours a day. Soil and root system must be soaked at least once a week and allowed to drain properly. You can indicate if your plant is not getting adequate amounts of water. Too much water will do that to constantly moist soil and leaves become yellow; While incoherent irrigation shows signs of leaves wilted and yellow foliage of tip. The plants can be fertilizadas with a 20-20 - 20 water soluble fertilizer; too much application will result in Brown spotted foliage. Pests and diseases are quite common with peace lilies, but can be controlled with care and maintenance. The Peace Lily transplantation can be everything you need. Peace lilies are also instructions for simple deletion. Remove any spent flowers and leaves of discoloration. These low-maintenance plants can also survive in hydroponic containers. Enjoy plant while that clean the air.

Dangerous plants and your cat or dog

You can do many things to keep their cats or dogs of damage, but a little danger can still stay in your home - your plants and food.

Funny pets could have a taste of any plant. A pet may feel the need to self-medicate (as cats eat grass), and thus might encourage the plant in a pot. Or they may just be curious. Despite being toxic, some good plants like (for example, the flavor of a Berry is not any indication of its security, as some berries can be tasted fine but highly dangerous).

It is also not any guarantee if a plant is edible for people. Many plants can be toxic to pets, even completely safe for humans. For example, onions are very toxic to cats. Also, the amounts that need pets to eat to be affected is much smaller than the would have to eat, due to its small size.

However, although many plants are perfectly safe, many are not, and it is necessary to be aware of what others to avoid.

Cats that should be avoided completely: China evegreen, crotons, peace lillies, onion, spider Lily, soles of rubber, iris, perennial, Eyed susan, belladonna, narcissus (plants and light bulb), tobacco (for example, boots of ashtray), rhododendrons, other ivys, English Ivy, rhubarb and asparagus fern, plants of tulips and bulbs, Lily of the Valley, Easter lily, aloe vera, holly, oriental Lily, chrysanthemum, jasmine, java beans, potato, poppy, mushrooms, umbrella plant, honeysuckle, mistletoe, amaryllis, seeds of apple, peas, Easter flower bulbs, quoits (all types) tiger lily, baby's breath, calendula, Bell, Philodendron, berenjenay gum, which can include a wide selection of plants at home and pantry.

Dogs must be kept far (inter alia): Croton, apricot, Chinese evergreen, Narciso, lilly of Easter, jasmine, baby's breath, Philodendron, potato, Hortensia, flor de Pascua, apple, mushrooms, plants corn, honeysuckle, wild mushrooms, laurel mountain, language mother-in-laws, walnuts and many nuts, apple, seeds of PEAR, Aloe Vera, holly, plant umbrella, green potatoes (especially skins), Lily of the Valley, virginia creeper, Lily peace, jade, Jacinto, glycine, iris, Plum, peach, apricot, cherry, swimming pools, schefflera, almonds, susan eyes, ficus, English Ivy, tomato plants (and green tomatoes) and yew trees. This would include a wide variety of plants at home and pantry.

Note that this list is not complete. If you have questions about the plants, research in your library or the Internet, see expert friends or if all else fails, get rid of the subject.

Even if you really value a favorite plant, your dog or cat must be first. If any plant is creating a health problem, an easy choice is what to do and you can make the right decision for the well-being of your pet.
